"The Queen's Gambit" Actress Anya Taylor-Joy Is Married to Malcolm McRae—All About the Guest List and the Bride's Beige Gown

Congratulations are in order for Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae, who are now officially married! The Queen’s Gambit star said “I do” to the musician on the last weekend of September 2023 in Venice, Italy, Daily Mail reports. According to the publication, the couple invited 150 guests to their nuptials, and celebrities, such as Miles Teller, Julia Garner, Cara Delevingne, Nicolas Hoult, and Evan Ross, attended the festivities.

The duo reportedly traded vows before celebrating their updated marital status at a reception with their friends and family and a brunch at the St. Regis the following day, a source tells People. Daily Mail reports that the Wedding Boutique Italy planned the festivities. Based on photos that the outlet published, the award-winning actress donned an unconventional wedding dress: a beige gown embroidered with birds and flowers and embellished with sequins. She paired her look with a cathedral-length veil, which was pinned to her half-up hairstyle. “She was a vision,” the insider shares with People.

The couple’s guests also dressed up for the occasion. Delevingne was photographed wearing a matching pinstripe suit while Garner was spotted in a velvet black gown with a plunging neckline. Ross likewise dressed to the nines in a sharp suit and bleached hair.

Daily Mail reported that Taylor-Joy and McRae were touring wedding venues in Venice earlier this year. They were seen looking at Palazzo Pisani-Moretta, a 15th-century palace, and Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista di Venezia, a 14th-century church, in particular, per the outlet. However, the publication has yet to confirm the exact spot where they tied the knot.

Taylor-Joy and McRae first met at the premiere of The Queen’s Gambit in March 2021. Two days after they crossed paths, the artist wore a song about the actress and uploaded a video of himself singing it. “I wrote this song for Anya two days after meeting her,” he wrote in the caption. “It’s called ‘Really Want to See You Again.’” A year later, the two made their public debut as a couple at the CAA Pre-Oscar Party in West Hollywood, California and then the Vanity Fair Oscar party, which confirmed their relationship. 

In April 2023, Taylor-Joy opened up about how comfortable she feels in her relationship with McRae. “I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading,” she admitted to British Vogue. “I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby. I see reading as something that I have to do. He loved it because he's the same.”
