Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Reflect on Their Wedding Day in First Anniversary Post

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes reached a lot of milestones in their relationship this past year. Not only did the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback make his third Super Bowl appearance in February of 2023, but he also married his high school sweetheart, and the duo welcomed their second child, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. On March 12, 2023, one year after their nuptials, the duo revisited their special day and took to social media to mark the occasion. 

Brittany, a former soccer star, uploaded several throwback photos from their wedding in Maui to commemorate the occasion. In the carousel are images of the duo standing at the altar in front of their white floral arch and seaside backdrop, dancing on stage at their reception, kissing in front of their multi-tier watercolor cake covered in a cascade of blooms, and taking photos at sunset featuring the scenic view. “Happy 1st Anniversary🥹🤍,” Brittany writes on Instagram. “One of the best weeks of my life, marrying your best friend it’s one of the greatest things you could do! 🙏🏼. Nothing beats doing life with you and these beautiful kiddos of ours! Year 1 was wild but we got many more to go☺️ You & Me forever♾️.”

After his wife made a tribute to their special day on Instagram, Patrick also dedicated a post to their wedding and first anniversary. The NFL player shared a snap of the couple sharing a peck in the middle of their aisle after being pronounced husband and wife. In the photo, the bride is wearing a custom Versace wedding dress with a corset top featuring bold cut-outs, sparkly embellishments, and a billowing train. The groom is sporting a gray suit with sparkly black shoes. “1 year ❤️,” his caption says. 

The couple first announced that they had tied the knot in a beachside ceremony in Maui, Hawaii ,with a joint Instagram post on March 13, 2022. “Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes 🤍,” they wrote. The two of them uploaded a fews couple shots in front of their floral arch and even shared a photo with their daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes.

The football star proposed on September 1, 2020, after the Super Bowl LIV ring ceremony. After getting down on one knee in front of a flower wall with “Will You Marry Me” in illuminated letters, Patrick gave his then-girlfriend an emerald-cut diamond set on a diamond-encrusted double band, which is estimated to be worth $800,000. After Brittany said “yes,” Patrick admitted to 610 Radio that proposing made him more nervous than playing in the Super Bowl, even though the couple had been dating since sophomore year of high school. “You don't think it's going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you've been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, your heart's racing—I promise you that,” he shared.
