When a Sagittarius gets married, you know the celebration is going to be a good party. “As a Fire sign, Sagittarius is feisty and light-hearted,” shares celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas. “Above all, when it comes to their wedding, they want to laugh, dance, and have fun!” Those born between November 22 and December 21 fall within this zodiac sign, which is symbolized in astrology by the Archer. Sags are known for their love of travel, extroverted and humorous personalities, and philosophical minds. Once an Archer finds its mate and decides to tie the knot, these traits will help them approach wedding planning with excitement and grand visions.

A Sagittarius will want a wedding full of life and energy that feels unique to the couple’s personalities and story. “A Sagittarius would have an adventurous, free-spirited wedding and opt for a natural, outdoor venue,” notes Julia Topaz, founder of Look Up the Stars Astrology. Of course, the travel-loving Sag will likely want to make their wedding an opportunity to explore the world. “If it isn't at a barn or in the forest, it's likely to be a destination wedding! Sagittarius could also choose to elope,” she says.

When it comes to aesthetics, the mutable sign is truly flexible with their choices. You could see a Sagittarius hosting a subtle and subdued ceremony but contrasting it with a big and bold reception design. One thing you can guarantee is that the Archer will put guest experience first and will want everyone in attendance to have an incredible time.

Wedding Planning

While a Sagittarius will have a grand vision for their wedding, the intuitive and philosophical sign might not be as attuned to the fine print of vendor contracts and specifics of planning. Thomas says, “In truth, they are one of the zodiac signs least likely to get entirely sucked up in all of the nitty-gritty details and may make judgments with their gut rather than worrying about all of the ‘hows’ and ‘whys.’ They will desire a spectacle, of course, as they desire to throw a party where everyone has the best time ever. There will likely be many funny stories shared, as Sagittarians don’t tend to take themselves too seriously.”

The Archer is also known for their honesty. Decision making with a Sag can be swift because they will not be afraid to voice their opinions. While this is helpful in making choices on design and logistics, the Archer should also be cognizant of their fiancé’s feelings and work to compromise when their visions don’t align.

While a Sagittarius definitely would host a traditional fête for their loved ones, the spontaneous sign “is also one of the most prone to shotgun weddings [or] eloping,” explains Thomas. Friends of an engaged Sag should also make sure their passports are in order. As the traveler of the Zodiac, the Archer could also plan a destination wedding that brings their spouse-to-be and guests on an adventure across the globe.

Wedding Season

You likely won’t find a Sag tying the knot in the wintertime. Instead, Sagittarius would love to say “I do” in the periods of time belonging to all of the Fire signs. According to Thomas, the Archer’s optimal dates for romance and marriage take place during Sagittarius season, which falls from November 22 to December 21, in Aries season, ranging from March 21 to April 19, and throughout Gemini season, from May 21 to June 20. A Sagittarius could also host a fall wedding near a full moon in Aries, which takes place each year between September 23 and October 22.

Wedding Venue

While a Sag could host their wedding pretty much anywhere in the world, the experts would ultimately expect them to choose a location that is ideal for hosting great events. The Archer would prefer an outdoor affair with plenty of space for guests to explore. “For Sagittarius, their venues are likely to be whimsical, upbeat, and accessible,” says Thomas. “They will likely opt for a location that allows people to mix and mingle easily, while still turning the main attention to them and their partner. Plus, don’t forget the dance floor!”

Wedding Décor

When it comes to their wedding décor, a Sagittarius is most likely to pull a variety of styles together to create a cohesive vision. Some traditional elements, modern touches, and ideas inspired by their travels could come together to create the Archer’s big-day aesthetic. As for color? “A playful color palette of light blue and copper will reflect their free-spirited nature,” shares astrologer Lisa Stardust. “Add hints of dark blue and rust orange to give an unexpected effect.”

Wedding Food and Drink

Curious Archers likely have tried plenty of global cuisines in their lust for experiences, so when it comes to their wedding menu, they will offer some of their favorites to all their guests. Cocktail hour could feature a mix of bites from around the globe, as well as specialties local to their destination. As for specialty cocktails, a Sag might offer espresso martinis to keep their guests energized on the dance floor. Stardust says the sign might even have fun shots on the menu later in the night. The Archer definitely would be one to host an after-party, so they’ll be sure to supply easy bites like pizza and sliders past midnight.

Wedding Cake

When it comes time to cut the cake, an extroverted Sag and his or her new spouse will have fun with this tradition. “Sagittarius is a fun-loving thing that needs to roam free,” notes Stardust. As for the sweet’s style, she says to “think dried botanicals for the wedding cake.”

Wedding Fashion

Archers will be excited to show off their big-day fashion choice. “A Sagittarius would choose a bohemian, carefree dress that reflects her wanderlust, fun-loving personality,” says Topaz. “Being that Sagittarius rules the hips and thighs, a trumpet style is the perfect dress for them since it accentuates their hips,” offers Stardust. For the Sagittarius who is not donning a dress, “a fun vibrant colored suit will allow them to embrace their fun personality,” shares Stardust.

Honeymoon Destination

As the adventure of marriage begins for a Sagittarius, they’ll be excited to jet off with their new spouse somewhere exciting that neither of them have ever been before. “New Zealand is a scenic wonderland, full of adventure—which is why you will catch the friendly Archer there slinging back several glasses of wine,” says Stardust.
