Spring 2023 accessory trends

Design by Tiana Crispino

And just like Bridal Fashion Week has come and gone in the blink of an eye, but the accessory trends are still dancing around in our minds. And there are plenty.

The accessory staples we've fallen in love with in recent seasons made appearances on this year's runways. (Read: Belts and gloves are still in style.). But a few rookie looks came out in full force, too. Take, for instance, outerwear. Designers have put a spring-inspired spin on the traditional winter necessity, creating billowing floor-length jackets, structured suit tops, and sheer, silky capes brides everywhere will surely drool over. We're also loving the versatility this season. Trains are now detachable, offering two looks in one, and veils are slowly shrinking in length. We couldn't be more obsessed!

Curious to see these trends in action? Read on for the top six accessories from the Spring 2023 collections. Which would you wear to say "I do?"

Embellished Gloves

By the looks of it, bridal gloves aren't going anywhere. They are, however, getting a little upgrade for Spring 2023. Designers such as Dana Harel and Safiyaa debuted embellished gloves as a way to dramatize a bridal look.

Detachable Trains

Want to wear two looks on your wedding day without buying two looks? Enter: detachable trains. Anne Barge and Ines di Santo are just a few of the designers who are paving the way for bridal versatility. Wear an ornate train down the aisle for a quintessential ceremony look, then remove the piece when it is time to dance. Voila! Two looks for the price of one.

Outerwear

We all know the weather can be quite unpredictable come spring, and designers like Lihi Hod and Sachin and Babi are providing much-needed options to combat uncertain temperatures with chic bridal outerwear. And of course, they are helping brides do so in style!

Shawls

If outerwear is having a moment, then so are shawls. According to the Spring 2023 collections, and designers like Sareh Nouri and Amsale, shawls can be ornate, romantic, fitted, or loose—but most importantly, never boring.

Mini Length Veils

Birdcage veils were all the rage last season, but now mini-length veils are having a moment. There is something so chic about a short veil paired with a short dress. But a mini veil and a ball gown? We love the unexpected combination.

Belts

Don't worry brides, belts aren't going anywhere. From thick to thin, and plain to embellished, we saw belts of several varieties this season. Peter Langner and Honor were just a few of the designers who broke out the belts, yet again, solidifying this trend as a staple for seasons to come.
